Rockers The Darkness have become so successful in 2003 that they are now customers of exclusive British bank COUTTS.

The bank boasts prestigious clients such as British monarch Queen ELIZABETH II and her family.

So the I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE band shocked staff at the bank - where customers need $850,000 (GBP500,000) to join - when they showed up in their scruffy attire.

An insider says, "When The Darkness arrived, dressed down in scruffed-up leather, an awful lot of heads turned.

"It's not as though your average Coutts customer would even have heard of the band, let alone expect to see them in a bank."
