The Office Gets An American Angle
The creator of British sitcom The Office is planning to cash in on his success in America by selling the rights to the show there.
The Office is already a huge hit in America on the BBC network, and now TV bosses there are planning to remake the show and set it in a Los Angeles workplace.
But the star of the show, Ricky Gervais, fears the American remake won't be as good as the original.
He says, "I'm glad the English one is out in America. The American one will be good but different. It has to be different.
"I think the problem will be casting someone as attractive as me. They've said Brad Pitt and I said, 'He's 40.'"
Asked what he thinks will be the major difference between the British and America shows, Gervais says, "Better teeth."09/10/2003 09:06
