The Ring Two Tops North American Box Office

Naomi Watts' horror sequel The Ring Two has opened at the top of the North American box office, with a haul of $36 million (GBP18.9 million).

The film pushed previous chart-topper Robots, which features the voices of Mel Brooks, Halle Berry, Robin Williams and Ewan McGregor, to second place, with a $21.8 million (GBP11.4 million) tally.

THE PACIFIER, starring Vin Diesel, took third place with $12.5 million (GBP6.5 million), followed by new movie ICE PRINCESS, which generated $7 million (GBP3.7 million) and Will Smith's romantic comedy Hitch with $6.6 million (GBP3.4 million).
