The Who have announced the first wave of tour dates for 2006, kicking off in Leeds, England on 25 June (06), the site of the group's legendary 1970 concert album Live At Leeds.

European shows are scheduled through to 23 July (06) in Ulm, Germany and are expected to be followed by dates in North America.

Guitarist Pete Townshend recently wrote on his blog that the Who would be "releasing DVD's of every show and releasing a new CD" this summer (06).

No details have been revealed about the band's next album, which would be the bands first since 1982's IT'S HARD.

Townshend said earlier this month (FEB06), "I know I've cried wolf a few times, but this time I have committed because I have enough music for a new CD, and I'm still producing."
