HIM frontman VILLE VALO insisted on having fans tattoos photographed for the album sleeve of his new album DARK LIGHT, as he views skin art as a chronicle of people's lives.

The eccentric singer refers to his own tattoos as a "meat diary", and would rather go under the needle than write his thoughts and feelings in a journal.

He says, "It was my idea to have the tattoo pictures on the album sleeve.

"I love tattoos anyway. It's like a meat diary of my rather obscene life."
