Former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS star Scott Weiland is convinced his new group Velvet Revolver will be among the great acts of 2004, because they sound like GUNS N' ROSES at their best.

The singer and his new group, made up of former G N' R stars Slash, MATT SORUM and Duff Mckagan, plan to release their as-yet-untitled debut album next March (04).

Weiland says, "The album is a true representation of the best aspects of Stone Temple Pilots' music, and the best aspects of

Guns n' Roses when they were at their best - vicious, streamlined, living off strippers. It's a perfect marriage."
