Legendary singer Tom Waits has made a triumphant comeback after 17 years away from music industry - playing to a sold out audience which included singers Thom Yorke, Beth Orton and Jamie Cullum.

The REAL GONE singer performed his first gig since 1987 at London's Hammersmith Apollo as part of a European tour to promote his latest album BLOOD RAIN.

Tickets to Wednesday's (24NOV04) show sold out within 20 minutes, with more than 7,000 fans attempting to book seats in the first hour.
