Witherspoon Returns To Tennessee For Manners
Reese Witherspoon owes her good manners to her grandmother, and always returns to her Tennessee home whenever she worries about the state of the world.
The Vanity Fair actress is left appalled by some people's behaviour when she travels to movie locations around the world, but rests safe in the knowledge there's always somewhere where civility is a priority.
She says, "My grandmother used to pick me up every day after school and she'd be wearing driving gloves and driving a white car - always a Cadillac. If one Caddie died, there would be another waiting for her.
"To me that's so Tennessee. This grand, quirky style, the hospitality, the manners. Whenever I worry that civility might be a dying art, I go home."07/01/2005 17:55
