3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell has been kicked out of the band following his latest arrest for driving under the influence (Dui).

The rocker, a founding member of the group, was taken into custody on Tuesday (18Feb14) in D'Iberville, Mississippi after police found him passed out in his car at a street intersection.

He was released on a $1,789 (£1,118) cash bond, but the 42 year old's personal troubles have prompted his bandmates to re-evaluate his future with the stars.

He had already been forced to take a hiatus from 3 Doors Down since his involvement in a fatal car crash in Nashville, Tennessee last April (13) and it appears his old pals have had enough.

A statement released by the Kryptonite hitmakers on Wednesday (19Feb14) reads: "Following yesterday's incident, the band has extended Todd's suspension indefinitely.

"We take this action to protect the image and integrity of the band and to encourage Todd to address and resolve his problems."

Harrell is currently awaiting trial for vehicular homicide by intoxication, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, violation of the implied consent law and possession of contraband charges related to the Tennessee accident.

The musician, who attempted to deal with his substance abuse issues in rehab last year (13), was previously busted for Dui in July, 2012, when he was detained in D'Iberville after he failed to stop at an intersection and crashed into a pick-up truck.
