50 Cent - 50 Cent Car Crash: His Latest Brush With Death
50 Cent has been released from hospital and is feeling "fine" after he was injured in a car crash on the Long Island Expressway in New York on Monday evening (June 25, 2012). The hip-hop heavyweight's vehicle collided with a truck, almost flipping over his Suv in the process, according to reports.
The rapper was stretchered into an ambulance at the scene, with paramedics fitting a neck brace. At a hospital in Queens, he was treated for minor injuries to his back and neck, though appeared in good spirits while tweeting away to his legion of online followers. He was later discharged, and a spokesman said he's now doing fine. Of course, 50 Cent is no stranger to injuries. He was shot nine times in 2000, suffering wounds to the hand, arm, hip, legs, chest and cheek. Recalling the incident, he was quoted by MTV News as saying, "It happens so fast that you don't even get a chance to shoot back. You can't move. Your first reaction is to move and then the shots is going off and you jumping around the backseat. I was scared the whole time. Ain't nobody gonna tell you they ain't scared in that situation. It's a hit, man. You supposed to die in that situation. They're not playing".
Growing up in a poverty-stricken neighbourhood in Queens, 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - was raised by his mother, until she was killed in 1983.
