ACE OF BASE star JENNY BERGGREN has decided to quit the pop group to go solo.
The singer has performed with the popular Swedish band since it began in the 1980s, but she's decided to leave The Sign hitmakers to launch her own career.
In a festive post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Merry Christmas! Check out jennyberggren.com! I've played so many roles, now I will start my own way. Follow me."
Ace of Base was originally comprised of siblings Jenny, Jonas and Malin Berggren and singer Ulf Ekberg until Malin left the group in 2007.
Jenny confirms the two remaining members will continue to perform as a duo, adding: "Meanwhile, the boys in the band are doing their musical thing, as I do mine. We wish each other the best of luck and work for the future. My hopes are that we can work together in the future, when I have proven myself as a solo artist."
