Actor Huld Dies
Danish actor PALLE HULD, who is thought to have inspired infamous cartoon character TINTIN, has died aged 98.
The star passed away on 26 November (10) at a retirement home in Copenhagen. His cause of death is unknown.
Throughout his career, Huld appeared in 40 movies between 1933 and 2000, as well as numerous stage productions at Denmark's Royal Theatre.
But he is best known as the alleged basis for author Herge's comic book stories The Adventures of Tintin, about a globe-trotting young reporter.
In 1928, aged 15, Huld won a competition with a Danish newspaper to travel around the world for 44 days. On his return to his native country, he was greeted by 20,000 people.
