Actor/musician Battise Loses Cancer Battle

Actor, choreographer and musician REGGIE LEON BATTISE has lost his battle with prostate cancer at the age of 55.
Battise passed away in Los Angeles on 8 October (10), reports Variety.
He rose to fame as a touring member of the rock band the Bus Boys as Reggie Leon and went on to play bass with 1980s rock 'n' roll group Sha Na Na for more than two decades.
Battise also toured Europe with the Houston Grand Opera's Porgy and Bess and co-hosted Fantastico, an Italian TV variety show on which he sang in three languages.
On film, he served as a principal dancer in John Travolta's 1983 hit Stayin' Alive, assisted with the soundtrack of 1989's Glory and was an actor and script consultant for 1992's White Men Can't Jump.
He is survived by a son, his mother, a sister and a brother.
