Actress Gail Gerber has died at the age of 76.
The blonde star passed away in Connecticut over the weekend (01-02Mar14) following a battle with lung cancer.
After moving from Canada to Hollywood, Gerber landed her first roles in 1964, appearing on Tv series Mr. Novak, My Three Sons, Perry Mason and Wagon Train.
She then graduated to the big screen, appearing in a number of teen films under the name Gail Gilmore, starring opposite Elvis Presley twice in Girl Happy and Harum Scarum, both shot in 1965.
Gerber also starred opposite the Beach Boys in 1965 film The Girls On The Beach and in sci-fi classic Village of the Giants.
In 1966, she quit acting to marry Oscar-nominated screenwriter Terry Southern, who helped to write Easy Rider and Dr. Strangelove.
The couple was together for 30 years before Southern died aged 71 in 1995.
