Adele - Adele Has 'Soft Spot' For The Brits
Adele says she'll always have a ''soft spot'' for the BRIT Awards, after her performance of 'Someone Like You' at last year's ceremony.
The 23-year-old singer - who picked up six Grammys last week - is up for British Female Solo Artist, British Single for 'Someone Like You' and Mastercard British Album of the Year for '21' at the glamorous event tomorrow (21.02.12) and despite all her success recently, she says the awards mean a great deal to her.
Adele - who wowed the world with her performance of 'Someone Like You' at last year's ceremony - said: "I have a soft spot for The BRITs, but this year feels really special since last year it kick-started my album into what it's become. What a beautiful way to celebrate!"
Following her performance of 'Someone Like You' the song went straight to Number One in the UK, marking her very first number chart-topping British single, where it remained for five weeks. It also topped the charts in Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, Switzerland and became her second number one in the United States.
Meanwhile, organisers of the awards are worried about Coldplay's performance because the band have ordered so many pyrotechnics for their opening set, sparking fears they will blow London's The O2's roof off.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It has been a logistical nightmare and for a long time organisers didn't think they would be able to go ahead with the plans. People have been running around the arena for weeks trying to sort it out."
