Adele has been forced to cancel her entire upcoming US tour after being struck down with a vocal chord haemorrhage. On the advice of doctors, the record-breaking songstress reluctantly cancelled shows in Atlanta, Austin, Orlando and Atlantic City.
Following an official announcement on her website, the British singer posted a lengthy blog entry apologising for the cancellation and explaining her medical issue, saying, "singing is literally my life, its my hobbie (sic) my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever". The singer, whose second album '21' topped the US Billboard 200 chart for over three months, has long suffered with vocal problems. She was forced to cancel U.S. shows in April following a bout of laryngitis. Later in a blog post she announced, "I will be back and im gonna smash the ball out the park once im touring again. I apologise from the bottom of my heart, sincerely i do". The statement led to an outpouring of support from fans, with over 600 fans sending get well wishes. The 'Rolling in the Deep' star recently completed a UK tour, which included several dates at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Further details concerning rescheduling concerts are to be announced in the near future, however, fans can obtain a refund from the point of purchase.
