The 2012 GRAMMY AWARDS are just around the corner now, and promotion going into the final two weeks before the star-studded ceremony went into overdrive today as it was revealed that Adele will make her live singing return at the event on February 12th. The British singing sensation has been sidelined since early autumn following ongoing throat issues which ultimately ended in the 23 year-old going under the knife for surgery in November. With an entire US tour cancelled in October in the run up to the surgery, the mega star will be itching to capitalise on the commercial success she had in the States where her album '21' went a whopping five times platinum, selling over 6 million copies in the country as part of massive sales figures of 17 million worldwide in 2011.

Adele will be joining a host of other live performers on the night, reports the UK's Guardian, including Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney performing a new song titled 'My Valentine.' Additionally to this, Coldplay and Rihanna will be teaming up live for the first time to perform their studio collaboration 'Princess Of China' which featured on the British rockers fifth LP 'Xylo Myloto.'

As for the nominees themselves, Adele is up for six gongs, one less than Kanye West but featuring in all the main categories, whilst Bruno Mars and Katy Perry are also expected to figure. Gossip site Perez Hilton states that the awards ceremony's executive producer KEN EHRLICH is expecting the show to be one of the biggest ever, with 17 to 18 production pieces performing 22 songs.
