Adele - Adele 'Too Emotional' To Perform Winehouse Cover For George Michael

Adele was "too emotional" to sing one of Amy Winehouse's songs at an Elizabeth Taylor tribute concert, George Michael has revealed. In an interview with Heart 106.2, the singer explained that he had approached Adele to sing 'Love Is A Losing Game,' thinking that it would have been the perfect track for the 'Chasing Pavements' singer to perform in honour of her late friend. However, the 25 year old was forced to turn the offer down, explaining that she hadn't even been able to include any of Amy's songs in her own concerts, as she would have liked.
George explained to the radio show's listeners "We communicated by email and initially what I wanted was for us to sing Love Is A Losing Game by Amy Winehouse at the Elizabeth Taylor tribute I did at Covent Garden. She was basically telling me she couldn't. She tried to put one of [Winehouse's] songs in her own set and she couldn't even get through it. I think they knew each other from the Brit School. They're obviously musical goddesses but I think the tragedy would have been too much for her."
George has also confirmed that he has been booked to perform two songs at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. The former Wham! singer is staging something of a comeback after nearly losing a battle with pneumonia last year. In a recent interview with Chris Evans for the Bbc, he revealed that he had to learn to walk again after his lengthy stay on hospitals, as he had suffered so much muscle wastage.
