Agyness Deyn had to stop modelling to find herself.
Despite being hugely in-demand, the British beauty decided to quit the industry at the height of her success as it was starting to take over her life.
The 28-year-old star said: "I think every single person, not just models, gets to a certain age and you're like, 'Who the f**k am I?' I think with modelling, even though it was me and it wasn't contrived, it got like other people were saying, 'OK, that's you.' And I was like, 'Is that me? That isn't all of me.' There's so much more to a person.
"It was about two years ago when I stopped - I still did little bits, but I had to get off the train to really assess my life and what I wanted. I just suddenly couldn't see where Agyness the model ended and where I started. It was so enmeshed and I was so busy that that's all I was doing for ages. I lost my sense of self."
However, she refuses to rule out a return to the catwalk although is happy trying to make it as an actress at the moment.
She told Britain's ELLE magazine: "I don't want to be like, 'OK, now I'm an actress and I'm never going to model again', because that would be crazy."
