Alber Elbaz is launching a cosmetics line with Lancôme.

The Lanvin designer has teamed up with the French beauty giant to create a limited-edition make-up range called Lancôme x Alber Elbaz, due to hit shops on June 15 worldwide.

Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International, told WWD: ''Alber Elbaz is, without a doubt, one of the world's most influential fashion designers. But beyond that, he is also the most talented.

''His sense of luxury, his vision of femininity and that hint of audacity resonate perfectly with the new values of the Maison Lancôme. We are extremely proud and happy that, with us, he is set to channel his universe in the world of makeup for the very first time.''

The cosmetics line will be announced with a 15-second animated film thought up by Alber and Pascal Dangin from Box Studio, set to go live on Lancôme's YouTube channel and Facebook page this morning (14.01.13).

The Parisian company, owned by L'Oréal, has teamed up with designers to create special edition make-up products in the past, most notably with L'Wren Scott November 2010.

They have also teamed up with Olympia Le-Tan to create a travel-friendly minaudière containing some of her favourite shades of lipstick and nail varnish, due to launch just before Valentine's Day (14.02.13).
