Alec Baldwin, the American actor and star of '30 Rock' would have the support of Chevy Chase if he decides to run for New York mayor in 2013. Alec Baldwin recently hinted he would consider a political run when Michael Bloomberg's term in office comes to an end, reports Msnbc.com.
An insider recently told iPad newspaper The Daily that Baldwin was considering a mayoral run following Anthony Weiner's recent 'Twitter scandal', saying, "Alec said, 'Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted'. The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill". The news attracted the attention of numerous celebrity friends of Baldwin, with actor Chevy Chase the first to lend his support. The 'National Lampoons' star said, "Alec is really, really intelligent and knows politics. I'd vote for Alec in a second". During an appearance on Thursday's (9th June 2011) 'Fox and Friends', the actress Jennifer Garner also backed Baldwin for mayor, saying, "I think he would give us all a run for his money. He's awesome, I love Alec. I think he should go for it. He could run and let people vote!".
Alec Baldwin, a die-hard Democrat from Long Island, has already confirmed that 2012 will be his final year on the hit comedy '30 Rock', leaving him free to pursue a political run the following year.
