Alec Baldwin - Alec Baldwin's Accused Stalker Turns Down Plea Deal
Alec Baldwin's accused stalker is taking her case to trial after rejecting a plea deal in New York.
Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin is alleged to have bombarded the 30 Rock star with emails, while making unwelcome visits to his Manhattan home after she enjoyed a night out with the actor in 2010.
She was arrested last year (12) on suspicion of harassment and stalking charges, and was held again in November (12) when she was accused of violating an order of protection by reaching out to the actor and his now-pregnant wife Hilaria via Twitter.com.
On Monday (08Apr13) Sabourin turned down an offer from prosecutors to avoid jail time and have her record wiped clean in favour of having her day in court.
She tells the New York Post, "I think it's a very offensive offer. (An acquittal is the only way to) get my life back."
Sabourin, who has hired a new attorney, Todd Spodek, after parting ways with her previous lawyer, is due back in court on 13 May (13).
