Welsh singer Aled Jones is set to see a specialist doctor after a recurrence of a chest and throat infection forced him to cancel another round of shows.
The star axed a number of performances last week (ends14Apr13) after falling sick with a chest infection and inflamed vocal cords, and he was due to continue his U.K. tour with a concert in Norwich, England on Monday (15Apr13).
However, he has now scrapped the Norwich gig, as well as shows in Ely, Derby, York and Salisbury, England, after the condition flared up again, and he has told fans he is seeking expert medical advice after coming down with tonsillitis as well.
In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "Thanks for all the tweets - chest infection came back and tonsillitis - seeing specialist today - so fed up - on 3rd set of antibiotics."
An official statement explaining the further cancellations reads, "Unfortunately Aled Jones has had to cancel... concerts in Norwich, Ely, Derby, York and Salisbury due to an on-going illness. Whilst preparing and practising for his tour it has reactivated his severe chest infection and inflamed vocal chords (sic). Aled has also developed tonsillitis during this time. On doctor's orders, it has been advised to cancel these five shows until he is well enough to perform."
Jones hopes to restart the tour on 26 April (13) in Truro, England.
