Alicia Keys has been forced to lower the asking price for her home.

The 'Girl On Fire' singer - who is married to music producer Swizz Beatz and has a two-year-old son Egypt - is eager to sell her New York City penthouse, which has been on the market since last March, and has dropped the price by $2.95 million.

The plush apartment, which the singer purchased from Lenny Kravitz in 2010 for $12.75 million - is now on the market for $15 million rather than it's original $17.95 million and according to the MailOnline.com the 31-year-old star has been extremely eager to sell the property since moving to a sprawling new home she bought from actor Eddie Murphy for $12 million in October.

The couple reportedly secured the estate, which boasts 32-rooms and a recording studio, for less than half of it's original listing price.

The apartment, which was completely renovated by Lenny after he bought it in 2000, reportedly featured multiple staircases, floor-to-ceiling windows and a stunning rooftop lounge with panoramic views of the city.

Alicia recently revealed she is a much happier person since meeting her husband - whose real name is Kasseem Dean.

She previously explained: ''He has a carefree spirit of how to take a moment and make it really fun and special. He opened my eyes to that. It started making my life so much more fun, enjoyable.

''My husband was the first person who really said to me, 'You're not going to dinner after that big awards show? Why?' It wasn't even a part of my thinking to be like, 'Wow, this is awesome. Look what we did.'

''That wasn't the culture I was brought up in. I was working really hard and I don't know if I expected anything.

''When I began to know my husband, it would be little fun things he would do for me, or his friends. I never knew how he could know so many people.''
