Rocker GREGG ALLMAN has opened about a tragic family secret - his eldest brother died at birth.
The singer, who was married to Cher in the 1970s, rose to fame with The Allman Brothers Band with his older sibling Duane.
Allman has now revealed he had another brother who died as a baby, and he wishes his lost sibling had survived to complete the family group.
When he was asked by MOJO magazine to tell the interviewer something he's "never told" a reporter before, Allman replied, "There would have been three brothers. My oldest brother, two years older than Duane, didn't make it at birth. That was a whole band, man! He'd have had to have been a drummer."
Duane Allman passed away in a motorcycle accident in 1971, aged 24, just two years after the group formed.
