Amanda Holden has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a car crash.

The 40-year-old presenter was on her way to collect her daughter, Lexi, 5, from school when she was hit by a lorry. Although her car is a write-off the pregnant star has said that her unborn baby is "perfect" according to the Press Association. The Britain's Got Talent judge said she was also fine and healthy but is still a little shaken and "achy" after being taken to hospital for a check up by a "good Samaritan", she reassured her fans by tweeting "Me and Bump of 4 1/2 MONTHS! will be back in Shrek tomra night all being well! Bit achy so resting In bed with Curly wurly.(Chris knows!! ) The actress also withdrew from last night's performance of West End show Shrek the Musical in which she plays Princess Fiona.

Born in Surrey Holden first appeared on television in 1991 on an episode of dating programme Blind Date, followed by ITV drama Wild At Heart. She is currently a judge on talent contest Britain's Got Talent alongside David Hasselhoff, Michael McIntyre and Simon Cowell which sees contestants perform routines to win audience support, the winner is given £100,000 as a prize and also has the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show in front of the Queen.
