Joshua Ledet now looks to be the favourite for the final of American Idol after wowing all the judges in the latest semi-final. It hasn't all been plain sailing for the 20 year-old prospect, having finished in the bottom three during the final seven, whilst earlier on appearing in the bottom three male singers. However he has since picked up his game immeasurably and had fans and judges alike drooling over his performances of first James Brown's 'It's A Man's World' and then his own take on Josh Groban's 'You Raise Me Up.'

"Neither man nor woman has sang that good with that much compassion, ever," said judge Steven Tyler to the star after his Brown cover, and with the rest of the judges also agreeing, it would seem that he's certainly in the driving seat ahead of the Rihanna-starring grand finale.

However he won't have it all his own way, with only Hollie Cavanagh looking weak in the final round, with her cover of Bonnie Raitt's 'I Can't Make You Love Me' not going down well, the judges finding it emotionally wanting and unsuited to her voice. Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips however fair a lot better, with Randy Jackson commenting on the latter, "I love you because you're your own guy." However all will have a tough task if they're to overhaul Ledet in the final reckoning.
