Amy Winehouse's death is still being described as "unexplained" by police, but a post-mortem will take place later today (25th July 2011), seeking to investigate the exact cause, reports Bbc News. Winehouse's body was found at her home in Camden, north London on Saturday.
Visiting his daughter's house on Monday, Amy's father Mitch thanked fans for their tributes, saying, "I can't tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier". As followers of the late singer gathered in Camden Square, Mitch added, "Amy was about one thing and that was love. Her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends and to you guys as well". Her mother and brother also visited the scene of her death with flowers, photographs and cards. The Grammy Award winner had struggled with drug addiction for several years, but police spokesman Supt Raj Kohli refused to confirm whether the death was linked to narcotics, adding, "It would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of death. My sympathy extends not just to her immediate family but clearly to the thousands and millions of fans across the world".
Amy Winehouse, who stormed the British charts with her second album 'Back to Black', was found dead by a member of her personal security team. She had been working on her upcoming third album, but a series of disastrous public performances meant she was forced to cancel her entire European tour.
