Anderson Cooper - Anderson Cooper Says Bin Laden Should Be Forgotten

Anderson Cooper, the American journalist and CNN anchor, has asked the U.S. public to forget Osama Bin Laden, following the Al-Qaeda leader's death last week. Anderson Cooper says he wants the public to turn their attention from the terrorist mastermind to victims of the 9/11 attacks.
Coverage of Bin Laden's death has dominated news since his killing, with conspiracy theorists working overtime to cast doubt over the killing. President Barack Obama has signalled his intention to keep photos of Bin Laden's corpse private, leading many to question the death. However, Cooper says attention should now turn to Al-Qaeda's victims, saying, "Someday, however, in the not too distant future, I hope we no longer give bin Laden the satisfaction of ever speaking his name or even remembering him in our nightmares. ...This man who terrorized so many for so long has simply disappeared". Bin Laden's body was buried at sea after his death on Sunday, and Cooper noted, "The ocean is a very big place and in the end, Osama Bin Laden was a very small man. ...We cannot, nor should we ever forget the horror that he unleashed, but as the months and years pass, I hope that his name is hardly ever uttered and I hope his picture disappears, as well".
Anderson Cooper was speaking live from Ground Zero in New York City, the scene of the 9/11 terrorist attacks orchestrated by Osama Bin Laden. Guests at the tribute event included Ari Fleischer, Michael Scheuer and JIM RICHES.

As well we should. It has always bothered me, the way my fellow Americans over-reacted to 9/11 and consequentially, to the death of Bin Laden. By that I mean, allowing themselves to surcumb to mass paranoia and fear, which I feel gave the terrorists not only what they wanted, but gave them a physcologicial sucess on an even grander scale than that bloke whom Anderson rightly says we shouldn't name, probably ever dreamed of.
