Pamela Anderson - Anderson Thanks Peta Bosses For Award
Pamela Anderson has thanked officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) after she was named their Person of the Year 2010 - and she's stepping up her campaigning following a meeting with Sir Paul McCartney.
The former Baywatch beauty was honoured for her tireless animal rights work over the last 12 months, and she's now revealed that during her time in the U.K. performing in a traditional holiday pantomime show, she took the opportunity to hold talks with the Beatles legend.
MCCartney is a longtime campaigner on the issue and wrote to Anderson in 2009 urging her to lend her support to vegetarianism - and he met with her backstage at his concert in Liverpool in December (10).
She says, "I'm so tickled to be PETA UK's person of the year. I've never met a vegetable I didn't like and I even included a pro-vegetarian line in my panto performance - I always find a way to speak up for animals!
"I've loved spending time in the U.K. in 2010, and particularly Liverpool where it was my pleasure to share a drink with fellow vegetarian Sir Paul MCCartney backstage at his intimate show... Thanks so much once again PETA for the honour."
