Andrew Garfield designed his character's skateboard in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

The actor revealed that the movie's director quickly took on his idea to include the item as a mode of transport for Peter Parker.

He told website E! Online: ''I designed it. It was my idea that Peter skateboarded and luckily [director] Marc Webb put it in the movie.''

He continued: ''It's got all my [scientific] equations on it. I thought, He's a science wiz, so why not have him do work on the board and then scratch it out and then paint it over and then scratch it again?''

He also admitted that he didn't immediately notice chemistry with his on-and-off-screen girlfriend Emma Stone when they first read The Script together.

He said: ''It's not really a thing that is quantifiable. I knew she was a great actress and I was so excited about her as an actress. I was like, 'Oh, wow--we're moving together, we're able to improvise and riff. We're listening to each other, which is a wonderful wonderful thing.'''

The screen star and his other half are feeling the pressure to live up past movie editions of the comic book reboot, particularly with their love scenes.

Andrew confessed: ''We have a big act to follow with that Tobey [Maguire] and Kirsten [Dunst] kiss. I just try not to think about it and gave it my all.''
