Ang Lee - Ang Lee To Replace Fincher As Cleopatra Director?
Ang Lee is favourite to replace David Fincher as director in Angelina Jolie's 'Cleopatra' after talks with the 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' helmer broke off.
Sony are hoping to attract the 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' helmer to direct the movie - which will see Angelina Jolie play the legendary Egyptian queen - after talks broke off with David, according to Vulture.
Ang is yet to be approached for the job and a reason hasn't been given as to why David - who expressed his enthusiasm for the motion picture back in December - will no longer be in the director's chair for the film, which has previously seen helmers James Cameron and Paul Greengrass linked to the project.
The studio has been looking to get 'Cleopatra' moving since 2006 when it got the rights to Stacy Schiff's book 'Cleopatra: A Life'.
The news that David will not be directing the movie comes shortly after it was revealed that 'The Girl Who Played with Fire' - the sequel to his 2011 drama movie 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' - has been delayed and will not be released in 2013 as first planned.
