Angel was very ''hands on'' with his debut album.

The singer-and-producer - who has previously collaborated with Wretch 32 and Roll Deep - has taken over three years to complete work on 'About Time' but insists he is ''glad'' he never rushed things.

Speaking at his album launch party with Red Bull Editions at The Mayfair Hotel in London on Wednesday (10.04.13), he said: ''I've been working on this album for about three and a half years.

''I'm glad that it took so long for me to learn all the things that I needed to learn for me to be here now

''I'm very hands on, I write everything myself and I know exactly what I want, it's coming right from the heart you see.''

Angel says the record took so long because he considered every factor in creating the song, rather than having to just show up to record his vocals.

He told guests including Fazer, Tinchy Stryder, Jamelia, JLS' Oritse Williams and Wretch 32: ''That's the beauty of what we do, this is not just delivering pop songs that sound cool, we're starting from the instruments, right down to the delivery of the vocal dynamically and melodically, and I think that's very important for the audience.

''It's not like I'm just getting a song that someone's written and adapting it and singing it.''

Guests at the bash were treated to cocktails using the new Red Bull flavours - Blueberry, Cranberry and Lime - including a specially-created drink to honour Angel, the Silver Angel.
