Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both visited the White House last week but now, Angelina has spoken to the press regarding the purpose of the visit. According to a story from The Mirror today (January 18, 2012), they attended separate meetings at the White House, dealing with different issues. Angelina told reporters that she was there to support the Land of Blood and Honey actress Zana Marjanovic who was there to address issues in Sarajevo. Brad, on the other hand was there to talk to the Vice President Joe Biden about the work that has taken place in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
According to the report, Angelina, who directed The Land of Blood and Honey was there to discuss "concerns about some things going on." No doubt employing the experience that she has gained in her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, she said " we spoke with him [Obama] briefly and then. spoke a lot to the people who work underneath him in the trenches and tried to figure out how we can do some stuff to continue healing in Bosnia and make sure it's headed in the right direction." She added that she was happy with the result of the meeting and that she was very proud of Zana, who "spoke beautifully about very specific concerns."
Last week, Angelina's thoughts were occupied with slightly less highbrow concerns. When asked what she was most looking forward to during the Golden Globes awards, she replied that she was most looking forward to 'going to bed with Brad Pitt.' Pitt was nominated for an award for his performance in Moneyball but lost out to GEORGE CLOONEY.
