Singer Annie Lennox sought medical treatment in New York earlier this month (Nov12) after a "nasty virus" left her exhausted.

The Eurythmics star consulted doctors in the Big Apple and Canada after falling ill and has been given medication to treat her symptoms.

Lennox was scheduled to headline a benefit concert in Toronto on Wednesday night (07Nov12), and she told fans she feared for her voice during her set.

In a post on her page, she writes, "This is how I've been feeling over the last few days. Came down with a nasty virus that almost wiped me out! But with assistance of some marvellous doctors and medication in New York and here in Toronto, I'm up and running and heading for the event in a few hours!

"If my voice gives out at any point I'll just ask the audience to sing along while I play accompaniment! Now That's what I call an idea!!"
