Singer Annie Lennox is to receive the 2011 Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef award for outstanding contribution to music.
The Eurythmics star will follow in the footsteps of Sir Paul MCCartney, Sting and David Bowie when she picks up the trophy at the July (11) ceremony, which raises money for the music therapy charity.
Lennox says, "I am thrilled and honoured to be receiving the O2 Silver Clef Award from Nordoff-Robbins. I've supported Nordoff-Robbins over the years and I'm a firm believer in their work and the healing power of music."
Nordoff-Robbins chairman David Munns says, "As an outstanding musician and philanthropist, Annie's influence has been felt globally."
The Why hitmaker will receive her prize during a luncheon at the Hilton Hotel in London's Park Lane on 1 July (11).
British rapper Tinie Tempah will be handed the Best Newcomer award at the prizegiving.
