Jeffrey Ross - Are Comedy Central Right To Cut Jeffrey Ross Shooting Joke?
Jeffrey Ross ' joke about the Colorado cinema massacre will be withdrawn from their upcoming Comedy Central show 'Roast of Roseanne'.
It's really a case of 'Ooh, too soon?' for this comedian as he directs an uncomfortable gag at fellow roaster and 'Family Guy' voice actor Seth Green, likening him to killer James Holmes because of his red hair just weeks after the mass shooting at a Denver cinema during the midnight screening of 'The Dark Knight Rises' where 12 people lost their lives. 'Seth, congratulations. This is actually a great night for you', Ross began on the filming of the show. 'You haven't gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora. ... I'm kidding. You are not like James Holmes. At least he did something in a movie theater that people remember!' The audience reacted with a gasp and it has been confirmed that the joke will be removed for the televised show which features various celebrities 'roasting' comedienne Roseanne Barr.
Ross refuses to apologise for making a joke out of the situation, admitting that he 'crossed a line' but thinks it's 'important to exercise freedom of speech'. 'Comedians are apologizing a lot', he told NBC News. 'It scares me when I start second guessing myself. So I wanted to put it out there and remind people what America is about.'
