British actor Aubrey Woods has died at the age of 85.
Woods passed away on 7 May (13). No further details of his death were available as Wenn goes to press.
He starred in a number of notable Tv shows, including Z Cars, Doctor Who, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Blake's 7. His most famous role is arguably as the sweet shop owner who sings The Candy Man in 1971 family favourite Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Former pop star-turned-stage performer Jason Donovan, who appeared alongside Woods in the West End production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, took to his Twitter page to pay tribute to the late actor, writing, "Sad news about Aubrey Woods! Absolute gentleman and the best (Jason character) 'Jacob' and 'Candy Man' ever !! God bless."
