The Avengers sequel hauled in an impressive $201 million (£134 million) overseas on its first weekend in international territories - over $110 million (£73 million) more than the latest Fast & Furious film, which is the biggest movie of the year so far.

Furious 7 recently became the first film in history to pass the $1 billion mark at the global box office in just 17 days.

Asia's The Left Ear is the world's third biggest film, followed by Home and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

Furious 7 scored a fourth week as the U.S. box office's top film on Sunday (26Apr15), but the latest Avengers blockbuster is expected to topple the fast-paced action film this weekend (03May15).
