Punk rock veteran Greg Graffin is returning to his alma mater as a lecturer - to teach students about evolution.
The Bad Religion frontman has a PhD in zoology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and he is heading back to the school in August (11) to share his vast knowledge with undergraduates for the autumn semester.
The four-month teaching stint will begin after the singer wraps up his European tour plans with Bad Religion this summer (11).
Graffin is no stranger to the classroom - he has previously lectured students at his other alma mater, University of California, Los Angeles, where he obtained a master's degree in geology.
Meanwhile, Graffin has been immortalised in the history books - he's had an ancient bird named after him. The fossil, Qiliania graffini, was discovered in China.
Explaining the honour, Dr. Jingmai O'Connor says, "The species name is in honour of Dr. Gregory Graffin, PhD: paleontologist, evolutionary biologist, professor, rock star, and inspiration to numerous budding and established scientists around the world."
