Barbara Walters didn't mince her words when interviewing Kim Kardashian and her famous family during a shoot for the '10 Most Fascinating People of 2011' this week. Walters chose the entire family as part of her annual compilation - this year headed by the late Steve Jobs - but gave the reality stars a rough time during the interview.
When trying to assess the Kardashians actual jobs, Barbara bluntly told Kim and co, "You don't really act; you don't sing; you don't dance. You don't have any - forgive me - any talent!" Clearly taken aback by the remark, Kim managed to mutter something about wanting to entertain television audiences, while her sisters nodded in agreement. Despite the jibe, Khloe Kardashian remained in good spirits and actually confessed that the famous reality stars don't have a talent as such. Kim added, "I think it's more of a challenge to go on a reality show and get people to fall in love with you for being you. So, there's definitely a lot more pressure, I think, to be famous for being ourselves". The model and businesswoman was then grilled about her infamous 2007 sex tape with singer Ray J, which catapulted her to fame around the world, with Walters asking, "You became famous. So, was it a good thing to have done?" Kim played down the extent to which the tape helped her career, but noted, "I've made mistakes in my life, for sure", while mother Kris Jenner reflected, "It was devastating for the whole family. You cry yourself to sleep for a few nights, then you hire a really good attorney and try to make something better -- or, you know, happen".
The family are arguably the most recognisable reality stars in the world, and have a reported combined annual income of around $65 million.
