Take That - Barlow's Delight Over Choreographer's Olympics Role
Take That star Gary Barlow has spoken of his delight after the band's choreographer landed the role of artistic director at next year's (12) Olympic Games in London.
Kim Gavin, who has worked on a number of the group's tours, was named as one of the directors for the event on Friday (18Feb11), along with Lady Gaga's stage and costume designer Es Devlin and film composer David Arnold, who will also help organise the shows.
The role has sparked speculation Take That will be in the line-up for the Olympics' closing ceremony - but although Barlow insists they've not been asked yet he is "proud" Gavin will be behind the event.
He tells Britain's Daily Star, "He hasn't asked us to be in the show, yet. Me and the guys are thrilled that Kim has been asked to create the closing ceremony. We know with him in charge it's going to be one great celebration.
"We're very proud of our live shows and Kim has always been at the very heart of their creation."
