Comedienne Roseanne Barr has very fond memories of the time she spent with boxing champ Mike Tyson in Las Vegas immediately following his release from prison in 1995.
The fighter spent three years of a six-year sentence behind bars after he was convicted of raping Desiree Washington in 1992 and when he got out he insisted that his first TV interview should be with Roseanne, who had a show at the time.
Barr recalls, "He called me up and he's like, 'You're the only person that I wanna tell my story to...' I went to Mike's house in Las Vegas and spent all day with him and we had the greatest talks."
But when the cameras stopped rolling and Tyson's manager Don King took the pair shopping at Caesar's Palace, Barr realised the boxer was nothing like the convicted thug he was often portrayed as.
She adds, "We walked through the mall and I was behind Mike, so I got to see the looks on the people that approached him and it wasn't like nothing (sic) you'd ever see for any other star... It was just like, 'Mike...' love, love, love, and Mike was so good and kind to everybody. It just kind of blew me away... I really liked Mike.
"He went into Versace... and he spent $25,000 on towels. I never saw anything like it. It was awesome. That's when he had some money."
