Goth icons Bauhaus once bought a hearse to arrive at gigs in - but gave it away because the idea felt weird and macabre.
Frontman Peter Murphy reveals he and his bandmates spotted the car while recording in Wales and offered the undertaker cash to take the motor off his hands.
The Bela Lugosi's Dead singer says, "We go, 'We've got to have that. Can you imagine having a hearse with our reputation?' So we bought it.
"We had it cleaned, but it still had the smell of fatality. It wasn't cool. It was not respectful. There was something wrong with it, like it wasn't de-sacramented or something. We had to get rid of it."
