Audrey Hepburn has been voted the most beautiful woman of all time.

In a poll held by television shopping channel QVC, the 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' actress beat modern stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie to the number one position.

Girls Aloud beauty Cheryl Cole came in at second place - one ahead of the late 'Some Like It Hot' beauty Marilyn Monroe.

Audrey died in 1993 after suffering from cancer aged, 63, but still beat today's best looking to the prime position.

The QVC survey was completed by 2000 women to celebrate the start of its Beauty Month throughout July.

Earlier this year, Audrey's little black Givenchy dress that she wore in 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' was also voted the greatest female screen outfit of all time.

The survey was carried out by Lovefilm and editor Helen Cowley explained why she was a deserving winner.

She said: "Audrey Hepburn has truly made that little black dress a fashion staple which has stood the test of time despite competition from some of the most stylish females around."

Outside the top ten were singers Kylie Minogue and Beyonce Knowles.
