Singer Tony Bennett has landed a new $10 million (GBP6.6 million) contract with Sony-Columbia, in return for full control of the 83 year old's back catalogue and all future releases.
As part of the deal, Sony executives have promised to spend $1 million (GBP667,000) on promoting every future Bennett release.
He tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "I've been there for 60 years. I've been there longer than any other artist. And they have a full catalogue of all my albums from 1950 to now.
"They said they'd like me to do 12 more albums. With each album, they'll promote it with $1 million. But if I don't want to do it, they'll still give me the $10 million. I don't have to produce anything to fulfill the contract; it's really the best contract ever written."
