Benoit's Son Did Not Suffer From Physical Illness
LATEST: The son of late wrestling superstar CHRIS BENOIT did not suffer from any physical or mental illness, according to medical reports.
The star asphyxiated his wife Nancy and son Daniel on 22 and 23 June (07) respectively, before hanging himself on 24 June at their Atlanta, Georgia home.
Daniel was reported to have suffered from a rare medical condition, and an attorney for World Wrestling Entertainment claims the pressures placed on his parents took its toll.
But Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard refutes these allegations, claiming Daniel did not suffer from Dwarf Syndrome or Fragile X Syndrome, reports TMZ.com.
He says, "Daniel's family denies that he suffered from either condition. As a result of the family's concerns, the Fayette County Sheriff's investigators and the District Attorney's Office have inquired into this matter.
"A source having access to certain of Daniel's medical reports reviewed those reports, and they do not mention any pre-existing mental or physical impairment."
Police believe Benoit murdered his son with his trademark wrestling move, the Crippler Crossface, because marks on the child's body match those on victims of Benoit in the ring.
