Beloved British actor Bernard Horsfall has died at the age of 82.

He passed away at a hospital near his home on the Isle of Skye, off the Scottish coast, on Tuesday (29Jan13). Further details of his death have not been released.

The actor enjoyed several film roles during his 50-year career, including parts in 1969 James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Gold in 1974, and Oscar winners Braveheart and Gandhi.

He also had numerous Tv roles in the U.K. including a turn in medical drama Casualty, cop show The Bill, and a recurring role in cult sci-fi hit Doctor Who in the 1970s.
