Bette Midler - Bette Midler Glee rumour hots up
Bette Midler is ''waiting for the call'' to confirm her appearance on 'Glee' after the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy offered her a role earlier this year at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards.
Bette Midler is ''waiting for the call'' to confirm her role in 'Glee'.
The singer-and-actress was invited to take part in the popular musical TV show earlier this year by co-creator Ryan Murphy - following in the footsteps of stars such as Britney Spears and Gwyneth Paltrow by having her own character.
However, after hearing nothing since then, Bette has urged co-creator Ryan to get back in contact with her as she is still keen on starring in the Fox series.
Speaking to 'Access Hollywood' she revealed: ''I don't know [when I'll be on]. [Ryan Murphy] never called me. He mentioned it, but I'm still waiting for the call. But, it's fine!''
Although Bette's appearance has yet to be confirmed in the series, the 67-year-old singer is keen on being linked to actress Jane Lynch's ''hilarious'' character Sue Sylvester.
She added: ''I love her. She's hilarious. Maybe I could play [Sue's] evil sister!''
Ryan offered Bette a guest part in 'Glee' at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards ceremony in October - where he gave a shout out to her and shared his excitement during his speech.
Bette recalled: ''He said, 'If Bette Midler's in the house I want to invite her onto Glee.' And I went, 'OK!' ''
Ryan then took to Twitter to share his excitement and plans with followers, posting: ''I just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people [at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards]. I hope she says yes (sic)'',
He then added later on: ''Bette said yes! Amazing. I am plotting... who should she play.(sic)''
