Michael J Fox - Bidding War For Michael J Fox's Autiobiographical Comedy Show

Michael J Fox will return to prime-time television next year with a single-camera comedy project based on his own life. The iconic star of the 'Back to the Future' trilogy has teamed with director Will Gluck (Easy A) and writer Sam Laybourne (Arrested Development) on the new project for Sony Pictures Television.
According to the New York Times Vulture section, all four major network chiefs have heard the pitch and a "bidding war" is about to begin. Sources say the project will get an automatic pilot production commitment, though industry buzz suggests one network may offer a straight-to-series deal (a rarity in broadcast television these days). The interest in the show isn't surprising, given Michael J Fox had two big hit sitcoms and maintained a strong connection with audiences over three decades. Predicting where the new show will land is difficult, though Fox has most of his recent history with CBS, landing an Emmy Award for his multiple episodes in 'The Good Wife', however, he's also appeared in successful shows on NBC (Family Ties) and ABC (Spin City). Despite the name, Rupert Murdoch's Fox is probably the least likely network to land the show.
Though he suffers from Parkinson's disease, Fox told Abc News in May that a new drug regimen has helped him control the tics that are a result of the disease and allowed him to take on more acting roles.
